A counselling session at Prairie Therapy is first an exhale; a warm cup of tea, a comfortable chair and an empathetic listening ear. We want you to know that we are here and you are not alone. Our counsellor, Alisha, is a mental health professional who can support you to lean into this discomfort, make sense of life's challenges and show up for yourself in the way you want and deserve.

No, you do not need a physician’s referral to see a counsellor at Prairie Therapy. Occasionally your insurance company may request a physician’s referral in order to process your claim.
In general, most extended health care providers cover physiotherapy treatments. However, all policies are different - some may cover only a certain percentage of the session and there is usually a maximum limit. We recommend you check your policy or contact your provider to confirm what services are available to you. For some plans, we may even be able to bill insurance directly. Contact our team to confirm that we can set up direct billing for you.
It all depends on the goals set out at the beginning, your counsellor will support you to meet your wellness goals
